Matt 11:29-30 "Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest to your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light"

We were not created to take on burdens, fears and concerns that push us often down to the ground. We are an anxiety-ridden society, even in the Church. Some of these burdens God never intended for us to take on in the first place. We've taken on for our kids every conceivable sport because of peer pressure, both from society and our own kids. Has God told you to take on the yokes you find yourself in now, or did you take them on yourself?

God is a Gentleman. He works by invitation. He never imposes Himself on anyone. Unless we ask Him to intervene in our lives He won't. This is why we pray in the first place. Some of the good things that are needful of doing in our churches are not necessarily something we should take on, even if we have the time and skills to do them. Good has one too many o's in it. Christian maturity is hallmarked by being led by the Spirit (Rom 8:14), not our five physical senses or our natural mind.

I encourage you to take off yokes that God never told you to put on. The ones He did tell you to take, are you doing them on your own or through the Spirit? The Galatian believers were caught doing the things of God without God. Paul reproved them for this. We need God start to finish and everything in between. He is the Alpha and Omega. Without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). Be led continually by the Spirit.
